Associated Press

More than half the North Carolina military members surveyed in the latest Elon University poll don't like the way President Bush is handling his job and the war in Iraq.

The survey results were released today.

Of the 539 adults surveyed, nearly 53 percent of military members said they strongly disapproved or disapproved of Bush's handling of his job. And 56 percent of that same group said they strongly disapproved or disapproved of his handling of the Iraq war.

Overall, slightly more than 53 percent of those surveyed did not approve of Bush's job performance, while 57 percent didn't approve of his handling of the Iraq war.

The telephone poll was conducted between Monday and Thursday and has a margin of error for the entire sample of plus or minus four-point-three percentage points.

Nader fails to qualify for Missouri ballot

In Missouri, the Presidential Slate will include just four candidates

Bush
Kerry
Michael Badnarik (Libertarian)
Michael Peroutka (Constitution)

John Kerry couldn't ask for a better position. No challenger on the left, two challengers on the right (though I suppose the Libertarian could perhaps pick up a few anti-war lefties).

Democrats up 19 in generic Congress race?

Look at this from polling report

http://www.pollingreport.com/cong2004.htm"

This is why we need to contest every race...

Look, I don't believe the Congressional elections will swing 19 points in our favor, but even 5-10 would be a Democratic tidal wave that would throw a lot of "safe" seats into play.

If we do still have a double digit lead by November we could be welcoming in a Freshman class that includes Jim Newberry, Richard Morrison, Christine Cegelis and Jeff Seemann.

On the way out : DeLay, Blunt, Regula, Henry Hyde and of course, Marilyn Musgrave.

We can't be complacent but we have got to fight for every square inch this election and give no quarter to the Republicans--Anywhere.

Lets make this the biggest repudiation of an incumbent President and a standing Congress in American history.

Open your pocketbooks for our candidates, talk to all your friends, register voters and knock on doors this year--we can take this country back.

Lets run the Republicans out in droves--contest every race and don't simply settle for victory.

No more 2002 strategies--this time lets fight with confidence and steamroll the b***ards! Victory isn't enough--Lets go for political annihilation. America's future demands nothing less!

Update: Jerome's comment, 19%, WoW, and the Harris poll before this LA Times said 13%, and even Bush's pollster Mathew Dowd can only must that the LA Times poll is an outlier by 8-9 percent. It's nice in June, that's for sure; and as for the Republicans, they are left digging for clues, how could this be?
